Overview

An interactive art piece that uses Stable Fluid simulation to visually and poetically express the abstract concept of "time." The title "Chrono Current" carries a dual meaning: the flow of time (Chronological Current) and the flow of fluid (Fluid Current).

Visual Expression and Homage

The color scheme pays homage to Claude Monet's "Impression, Sunrise," featuring deep blue as the base with vibrant orange fluid. The metallic gleaming date display represents "inscribed time," while the constantly changing fluid embodies "flowing time." This contrast expresses time's duality—the momentary nature of recorded instances and the unstoppable continuity—within a single frame.

Core Concept

The metallic particles generated through velocity fields and random UV coordinate displacement are the most crucial element of this work. These particles represent "fragments of time"—crystallized moments born from the continuous flow of time. The process where shimmering particles (time fragments) emerge from the ceaseless fluid motion (flowing time) and converge at the center to form the date (inscribed time) visualizes the fundamental process of how time is generated and perceived.

Interactive Element

Activating the checkbox in the upper right corner transforms the piece into "Psychedelic Mode." Golden gleaming dates, more vivid blues, and contour-like patterns appearing in the fluid—these changes express how the same "today" can become completely different experiences for different people.
